New Adidas Advert - Sachin Tendulkar

March 31st, 2007

Has anyone else seen the ‘new’ Adidas advert/video with Sachin Tendulkar?

In the video Sachin tells the story of how he was a kid, his coach would put a coin on top of the batsmans stumps, if the bowler got the wicket he would keep the coin. Then at the end his message is that:

“At whatever level you reach, getting better never stops” - nothing is impossible.

This blog is best viewed in…

March 29th, 2007

Hi there, I just wanted to put up a quick post to recommend that you view this blog in Internet Explorer 7 (you might need to upgrade to it) or alternatively in the Mozilla Firefox browser which you can download from the button below.

For some reason people who use Internet Explorer 6 have problems with the right hand side bar being pushed to the bottom of the screen. Using IE7 or Firefox (which I use) should resolve this.

Thanks,

Ian

Benefits of Cold Showers

March 29th, 2007

I don’t know about you, but I really don’t like cold showers! Why? Because they are cold! However, believe it or not, there are some real benefits of cold showers (apart from helping cure hangovers).

If you follow sports closely you probably know that many serious athletes take cold showers or ice baths after training, primarily to aid recovery following a hard training session.

Great Wins For Ireland and Bangladesh

March 19th, 2007

I hope you got a chance over the weekend to watch Ireland beat Pakistan and Bangladesh beat India. Both games were great to watch and goes to show how unpredictable cricket can be at times, hopefully it will do some good in raising the profile of cricket in some of these ’smaller’ cricketing nations.

Flintoffs Sinking Ship

March 19th, 2007

I don’t know what your opinion on this is, but I think his actions were like the drunken antics of a selfish teenager.

Bob Woolmer - Sad Day For Cricket

March 19th, 2007

This came as a real shock for everyone, but the sudden death of cricket coach Bob Woolmer (who had been working with Pakistan) was totally unexpected. He was only 58. Tributes have been pouring out from the coaches, players and fans, you can read some of them here:

Tributes for Bob Woolmer…

Many people included myself saw Woolmer as a potential predecessor to Fletcher if he decided to go, but I guess it was never to be…

Woolmer was undoubtedly a very influential coach who has helped further the progress of cricket and raise standards of the game. My condolences go out to his family and friends, he will be missed by many.

Ian

Cricket World Cup…Who’s Going To Win??

March 12th, 2007

With the cricket world cup fast approaching, any of the top 8 sides believe they are in with a chance of winning. There’s been a mix of results over the last few weeks and months in one day cricket leaving the competition wide open (take Bangladesh’s win over New Zealand for example), Australia have a few key players out due to injury and no there’s Shane Warne to bowl at the death.
