I couldn’t resist posting this video of good old KP getting out after his helmet was knocked off! Read More→
The Wisden Cricket Almanac 2007is out now! If you’ve never read the Wisden Almanac then I highly recommend you do so, it’s crammed pack of great articles, stats and English humour.
Has anyone else seen the ‘new’ Adidas advert/video with Sachin Tendulkar?
In the video Sachin tells the story of how he was a kid, his coach would put a coin on top of the batsmans stumps, if the bowler got the wicket he would keep the coin. Then at the end his message is that:
“At whatever level you reach, getting better never stops” – nothing is impossible.
This video will make you laugh! There’s some excellent clips here of how NOT to bat!
I hope you got a chance over the weekend to watch Ireland beat Pakistan and Bangladesh beat India. Both games were great to watch and goes to show how unpredictable cricket can be at times, hopefully it will do some good in raising the profile of cricket in some of these ‘smaller’ cricketing nations.
I don’t know what your opinion on this is, but I think his actions were like the drunken antics of a selfish teenager.
If you don’t know what happened you must have been under a rock…here’s the bottom line:
This came as a real shock for everyone, but the sudden death of cricket coach Bob Woolmer (who had been working with Pakistan) was totally unexpected. He was only 58. Tributes have been pouring out from the coaches, players and fans, you can read some of them here:
With the cricket world cup fast approaching, any of the top 8 sides believe they are in with a chance of winning. There’s been a mix of results over the last few weeks and months in one day cricket leaving the competition wide open (take Bangladesh’s win over New Zealand for example), Australia have a few key players out due to injury and no there’s Shane Warne to bowl at the death.
I was just reading today that 25% of cricketers wear something that they believe will bring them luck when playing. (Source: Guinness – sponsors of the Guinness Premiership)
I know from experience that many people have different things that they believe will bring them luck, for example on person I know has to put on the left boot before the right (and the left pad, left glove etc), someone else always taps the bat 3 times before the bowler bowls.
English cricket is officially depressing!
With the world cup fast approaching is there any hope for England? Two more heavy defeats for England and with Pietersen out of action with a fractured rib until the world cup, bad news has quickly turned to awful news! Read More→
